Description
This sign was a difficult endeavor, and an exercise in persistence. The original sign was an excellent approximation of the Las Vegas sign, but a mishap in transportation destroyed the main plexiglass screen. In less than 36 hrs we had to rebuild the main element of the sign that has taken many hours to complete. The 36hrs it took to recreate it was a frantic dash, but in the end we were able to recreate it well enough. The sign was a plexiglass screen lightly coated with white paint to provide a translucent effect with the letters painted on top with a translucent paint.
The original sign, modeled after the Las Vegas sign, was nearly destroyed in transit when its plexiglass screen shattered. With less than 36 hours, we rebuilt the key piece—an effort that took persistence and urgency. The sign used a translucent white-painted plexiglass base with hand-painted translucent lettering.
